Thank you for taking the time to review my profile. My plan is to continue playing basketball while studying Mechanical Engineering. I have just finished my varsity season as a junior after being team captain and named player of the year on the JV team the previous season. I currently have a 4.17 GPA after taking advanced classes as a junior at Murrieta Valley High School. I took the ACT for the first time this past fall and got a 31 out of 36. I scored in the 97thpercentile nationally on the PSAT. I will be testing again for the ACT in October. I recently received the Rotary Youth Leadership Award for my school and attended the RYLA conference. I also received Honor Guard which is only given to the top 35 students in my Junior Class comprised of 637 students.
This past spring while attending the WCE Spring Breakout Camp, I was chosen as one of the top 20 players. I recently played in the Elite 100 tournament at Pomona Pitzer College, where over 300 players competed and I was named one of the top 20 all stars of the class of 2017. I also ended the season recieving the Coache's Award. My Team (Earl Watson Elite 17u Silver) went 5-1 at the FAB 48 Tournament and ended the season with an overall record of 16-3.
My sights are set high and I continue doing the hard work necessary to make my dreams become a reality. I work out 5-6 days a week for three hours a day splitting time on the court and with my strength and conditioning coach. Although I am 6'9" (and growing) I have very good ball handling skills, footwork and agility. I play the power forward and center position the way it is meant to be played. On defense, I protect the paint and block a lot of shots. On offense, I set great picks and have strong moves to the basketball. I consider myself to be a leader on and off the court. I feel that my high academics combined with my growing athleticism will make me a great asset to your team.
