Personal Statement
I started playing organized basketball at the age of eight years old. Basketball is my passion and has been more than a game to me. Basketball has taught me several key fundamentals to being successful in life. I have learned to be dedicated, perseverant and hardworking.
I started playing basketball in the National Junior Basketball (NJB) league at the age of eight. I made the divisional All Star team all six years I was eligible to play in the NJB. In addition to playing NJB, I started playing for AAU clubs at the age of ten. My AAU career has given me the opportunity to play a high level of basketball over the last six years. The most recent club I played for was Top Flight Elite. I played on my middle school basketball team all three years of eligibility and have now been playing on my high school team for three years. I am currently a shooting guard on the varsity basketball team at Leigh High School. Throughout my basketball career, I have distinguished myself as an exceptional shooter. My above average basketball experience and training has contributed to me having a high basketball IQ. I believe that I could contribute greatly to any team and be competitive at the college level.
In college, I aspire to major in Computer Science. After I graduate, I plan on enlisting in the United States Air Force. I believe my never ending fire and ambition to be as close to great as I can be is what sets me a part from other recruits. For any team, no matter the position I am in, I would bring my passion, work ethic and positive attitude. My GPA average is currently a 3.0. I have enjoyed the classroom challenges as much as I have enjoyed the challenges of being a competitive basketball player.
