Personal Statement
I push myself to exceed expectations and to accomplish my goals and my goal is to play college basketball. As a freshman I was placed on the Junior Varsity team as starting point guard. I didn't want to disappoint my coach or teammates I worked hard to improve my game. I received the MVP and Captain Awards. I advanced to the Varsity team the end of my freshman season. Being one of the younger, smaller and less experienced players on the team I knew I would have to push and expect more of myself. I soon realized it wasn't about having the most experience. If I wanted to improve my game I needed to listen, be coachable, be mentally and physically healthy, and I needed to give more than what I expected from my teammates and what the coaches expected from me....that is what I did and continue to do. My sophomore year I played on the Varsity team as the starting point guard receiving the Coaches Award. This season I am a junior I was captain and starting point guard, I received the MVP (Blanket) and Captain Awards. I am sure you have heard the phrase that hard work pays off, I believe it's true.
I wake up every day wanting to grow as a person, a student and a player. I am committed to making myself an all-around great offensive and defensive player. I will continue to push myself improving my ball handling skills, stay academically motivated and lead by example in every area of my life.
I enjoy music and working out, I also play baseball and golf, I love hanging out with my friends and family. My overall passion is basketball.
I have learned through basketball to do the best I can, give 100 percent and that I represent my school, teammates and family on the court and off the court. Thank you for showing interest and reading my profile.
