Personal Statement

One of my goals when I get to college is to study Computer Science and get a degree. My main goal that I have wanted since I started playing basketball is to play college ball and make it to the NBA. I do not know what might make me a good candidate for your team, but I know that I am really goal-oriented and I want to accomplish the goals that you may have. Either it is to win a championship or to make it to the playoffs, I want to accomplish it. I have that goal to if you decide to have me on your team, I want to win a championship as well. I think what makes me different is how far I think ahead of my future, I am barley a freshman and I already know what I want to study and what I want to do in college. Maybe some recruits may have this in common, but some may have started thinking about their future in Sophomore, Junior or maybe Senior year. Whoever may be reading this, I want to drive your team to greatness and represent your school.

My name is Marco Echeverria, I go to Chula Vista Learning Community Charter High School, not a well recognized school. I have been playing basketball since I was 8, played on a team when I was 12. I learned how to play basketball by watching the NBA on television. My mom and my dad never taught me anything, in which my father only knew how to play baseball and my mom volleyball. I practiced ball handling drills and shooting drills in a court I had outside my house. I played basketball in middle school and I averaged 23.4 points a game. I was the leading scorer of the league and got an MVP award. This year in my first year of high school, I made it to both varsity and JV. I decided to play my freshman year in JV and averaged 22.2 points a game. In addition to this year, I was moved up to play with Varsity in their last game of the season. I scored 16 points off the bench in 10 minutes that I played in that game. I was the leading scorer in that game.

I hope you can continue to watch how I play throughout my years in high school and thank you for reading my personal statement.
