Personal Statement
When I was 10 years old, my family and I moved to Argentina to work alongside the underprivileged. This proved to be an invaluable experience for me and has helped shape me into the person I am today. I am thankful for the chance I had to live in another culture because I learned to further appreciate the value of hard work, team effort, flexibility, gratitude, friendship, and family.
All of these lessons have translated to the way I play basketball. I have been an athlete all my life, playing club soccer both in the States and abroad, but I fell in love with basketball in the beginning of my eighth grade year and have played it every single day since then. It is a privilege to count my teammates as my closest friends. Through basketball, I have learned that I have an intense work ethic, a trustworthy character, and unselfish leadership skills.
In addition to my role on my high school and club basketball teams, being part of a highly competitive accelerated academic and leadership academy has helped develop me into a more well rounded and dedicated person. I take my coursework very seriously and am committed to graduating in the top 10% of my class.
As I look to the future, my dream is to find a college where I can play basketball, be challenged academically, and make lifelong friends and teammates.
