Personal Statement
I made my high school varsity team freshman year and through hard work I earned a spot in the starting line up my sophomore year alongside four seniors. This experience really opened my eyes and gave me the motivation to pursue basketball at the next level. I have played up a level or two ever since first grade and it has helped to prepare me for high school. Playing alongside a Stanford commit I really learned the level of dedication and commitment it takes to play beyond high school. Even though our team only reached as far as the quarterfinals, as a starter I learned what it takes to be a leader, as well as the level of dedication and sacrifice needed to contribute to a team’s success.
I am looking for a program that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I believe I am a very well rounded basketball player who is capable of contributing to the team both offensively and defensively. I not only have the talent to compete at the next level, but the work-ethic, drive and determination to make an impact on any program. I realize what it takes to do well on the court, but value what it takes to succeed off the court. As a student athlete the academic portion is equally as important to me as the basketball program.
