I'd like to play basketball in college, for a competitive team while earning a great education. My immediate sports goal is to continue to improve through practice and playing in national tournaments against highly rated opponents, and to lead my club basketball team to another AAU tournament championship.
My immediate academic goal is to improve my GPA while taking advanced classes as a H.S. Senior. I'll also re-take the ACT this year in order to understand where I am academically. I have done very well in my advance math and science classes, and intend to take other diverse subjects to help me figure out where my interest and talent is so I can narrow my academic focus during my Senior year, taking classes that will help prepare me to be successful in college. My intended major in college is Geology, with a Minor in Business.
My dream is to earn college funding through academic performance, and to improve my basketball skills enough to play for a Division I, II or III nationally recognized program. I have always been a "team first" player, and enjoy playing good, sound defense. While I have played with 4 fouls in several games, I have never fouled out of a game. I also love to shoot technical foul shots, and have never missed when called on to shoot a technical foul shot. I currently lead my high school team in 3 pt percentage, at just over 50%. Our Monarch HS team is Colorado 5A, and are challenged to do well this year after graduating seven seniors from last year. Our season goal is to finish with a great record and earn a good seed in the State playoffs, get a few home games and challenge for the State Championship.
I have also played with a club team, the Colorado Titans. Last year, we won the Mile High Classic 16U in Denver, playing against some very good teams and players. That experience has been very valuable to me, as the teams we played generally have more talent than most high school teams.
Right now I am focused on training and working with Epic Ballers to develop a few new skills and improve all around. I will play the fall season with my high school, and may play with another team in a local league. My goals for the fall is to try out some of what I've learned this summer, and to have some fun playing ball.
