Personal Statement
I'm currently a Senior, student-athlete attending Arapahoe High School; a 5A school in Colorado. I'm starting my Senior season having transferred from a smaller, rural school following my sophomore year. We moved for my dad who took a new job.
I spent the fall adjusting to a much more challenging academic program and getting to know my teammates. I worked very hard adjusting to a new system and earning the trust of my teammates and coaches. I had been playing with the same guys since 3rd grade. So this move was a big adjustment. After the first 6 games of Junior season, I earned a starting spot.
I think overall the move to a new community and school will be a positive. It is an early lesson on how to adapt as a student and player. It will help me when I go to college and make my next transition.
Currently my focus is on school and improving my basketball skills to become an exceptional college basketball recruit for a school that offers academic opportunities as well as a quality basketball program. I've yet to determine my academic emphasis and will continue to excel in school so that I have as many options as possible.
I intend to continue to dedicate myself to the game of basketball and work on skills necessary to make me attractive as a small forward or shooting guard at the next level.
