I've been playing basketball since I was 7 years old. I have a twin brother who had always been better than me at everything. It made me work so hard. Then the summer between 7th and 8th grade I grew about 4 inches. I had always been very fast but I started to notice that I could out rebound anyone. That's when I knew that this was my sport and I wanted to play in high school and college. Since then, I've honed my ball handling and my shooting. I score most of my points in the paint but I've become a very good 3 point shooter as well. I started every game as a Freshman. My sophomore year I played on both the varsity team and the JV team. I was by far the leading rebounder on the team and second in scoring for JV. This year, as a junior, I'll be starting on varsity. I am very coachable and always try to be the hardest working kid on the team.
Off the court, I used to go to Eagle Hill School which is a school for kids like me with learning disabilities. I worked very hard and after middle school I was mainstreamed into the public high school. There I've continued to work hard and I've maintained a 3.6 grade average. The last two summers I've been volunteering at the local Boys and Girls Club teaching basketball. The summer before that I volunteered at the local hospital.
While I'm looking forward to my next two years of high school basketball my goal is to attend a college where I can continue to push myself in the classroom and on the basketball court. I look forward to hearing from anyone who thinks that they are the right fit for a kid who pushes himself hard at everything he does.
