Personal Statement
I have been playing basketball since I was five years old. Since I first stepped on the court, I have aspired to play at the collegiate level. My greatest goal is to be the first member of my family to get a college degree while playing the sport that I love. I am a Senior at Schoolhouse Preparatory, the captain of the Boys Varsity Basketball Team and play Shooting Guard/Small forward. I stand at 6’4 and weigh 150 pounds. I am Currently the Vice President of the Student Council and a member of the National Honor Society. I am proud to have a 3.3 GPA and a clean disciplinary record. I plan to pursue a career in the health profession with a concentration in Sports medicine.
I joined the Boys Varsity basketball team in my Junior year and lead the Wolfpack to a 19-7 record in the school's 3rd year as a member of the FHSAA. Our team made it to the Regional Quarter Finals. As a second-year team captain, I will enter my senior year seeking the Class 2A State Title.
I have many qualities that distinguish me from other recruits. Among my athletic attributes are my speed, aggressiveness both at the offense and defense. I’m a ball handler, excellent penetrator. I'm not afraid of training hard. I am loyal, and demonstrate good sportsmanship toward my team, coaches and opponents. I am coachable and do whatever my team and coaches need me to do. I'm an all-around player and can play both offense and defense. I am a man of faith, self-disciplined and respectful. I am also a leader on and off the court. I am dedicated to my education and to basketball. I am humble in victory and know how to cope with defeat.
I have what it takes and I will give my coaches, team and university everything I've got!
