Basketball has always been an integral part of my life. At a very young age, I was introduced to the game of basketball by my father. I recalled sitting with him and watching his favorite team, the Detroit Pistons, play on television. As I got older, my interest grew and I not only desired to play the game but I also wanted to understand it and become successful at it. It wasn’t until my 7th grade year that I knew that one day I would be very successful at basketball. I knew that my love for the game would take me to the college level and beyond.
Since middle school, I have been a starter and I have received multiple awards such as the MVP award, the coaches’ award and the most outstanding player award. I have also participated in summer camps at the University of North Carolina, Clayton State University and Georgia Tech. I feel that I am very coachable and have an excellent work ethic on and off the court.
I am active in my church, I have volunteered at a summer camps, participated in go green and I commit time to read to younger students at Southwest Atlanta Christian Academy. I have dedicated myself to becoming a student athlete and strive daily to excel in the classroom.
My goal is to become part of a basketball team and program where we are more than teammates but a brotherhood. I want to be a member of a team where I can make a difference while pursuing a degree in broadcasting.
I know there is a big difference in being confident versus conceited and I am confident. I have learned to put God first in everything. This is something that my parents have taught me and it has gotten me to where I am today.
