Mayo Akinsunmi '19 Recruiting Profile

I have been playing basketball since I was 8years old. I knew almost immediately that I love the sport. Basketball is my passion. I am currently competing at a highly competitive high school and performing exceptionally. 

One of the things I have learned about myself through playing basketball is hard work. My motto is "if you don't give it your all, don't do it at all". It has given me a work ethic like none other. Basketball has also taught me the value of teamwork, commitment, sacrifice, and leadership. 

I am a great leader on and off the court. I am dynamic, fast and versatile and able to play multiple positions well. I currently play both sides of the ball as a Point Guard and Shooting Guard. Being a quick learner, I bring a lot to a team! 

Academically, I study very hard and maintain a high GPA. I am interested in a school that challenges me mentally and one that has a very competitive athletic program. I have a passion for the competitive environment.

Basketball is a sport I have a love for and I hope to one day have an opportunity to compete at a professional level.
