Personal Statement
I was seven years old and in the first grade when my family moved from the Philippines to Hawaii. I didn't play basketball until I got to the sixth grade. As my middle school years passed they didn't have basketball programs for my seventh and eighth grade year. Knowing I was going into high school, I told myself I needed to better myself so that I can make it on the varsity team. Basketball season came my freshman year and I made it on to the varsity team, that's when everything fell into place and my love and dedication for the game just grew and grew. My goals in the basketball world is to make it as far as I can and make my family proud. To some people being a nurse, a construction worker or whatever it might be, is their way of finding success but for me basketball is the path that will lead me to be successful. I may be one of the shortest players but I can say one thing, I believe I got the biggest heart. I know the game well and I strive not to only make myself better but others also. I play point guard but I can also shoot and rebound. Athletes play higher level basketball for the money but for me the money doesn't matter, I play for the love of the game.
