My parents are my family, and I love them, but I have chosen to become independent in school. They do not drive me to get A’s on tests, or to study for big exams. It is my life, and I push myself. My personal goal for my GPA is a 4.0 or higher. My GPA freshman year was 4.3, and my GPA this year is a 4.2. I look at school as a job, because this is how I will earn a job, despite the poor economy. I do not need to show off to anybody because I do things for myself. I am self motivated. I love basketball and I have plans to play in college. This year, I had partial leadership of the team on our journey to a 9 win, 3 loss season. I have learned to stay positive and never let my teammates down throughout the long season. Every day after school for two and a half months, I pushed myself and my teammates to the limit. I learned what it takes to work hard.
