Personal Statement

Something I wanted to share until I get my personal statement completed:
To Whom It May Concern:
It is my pleasure to write this letter of recommendation for Mr. Joel Alexander. Joel has been a player in the Glenwood Basketball program since he was in 6th grade. Throughout Joel’s time in the school district, I have had the opportunity to watch him grow from a young middle school player to a mature student athlete here at Glenwood High School.
During his time at GHS, Joel strived to display the basic characteristics needed to be a good student and leader. Each day, whether it was a practice or a game, Joel always made sure he gave an honest effort to help improve himself as a basketball player and also made sure he committed himself to a “team first” mentality. Although Joel's stats may not reflect high numbers, due to his role as a team player. Joel's ability to anticipate and defensively be aggressive are two of his biggest assets. He has a great insight to the game and sees the court very well. In addition to his athletic accomplishments, Joel also worked very hard to improve his academic status. I strongly recommend that Joel Alexander be considered for any scholarship(s) he may apply for at your institution.
