I have been told, by teammates and my coaches, that it makes a huge difference if I'm on the court with them. They say, I bring an energy, enthusiasm, and camaraderie to the team. There have been times that I've been injured and my coach has said he notices the difference in how the team doesn't work together as much.
My sophomore season, I was ruled ineligible to play by the IHSA due to a "private school to private school" transfer. While was difficult to sit on the bench during the games watching my teammates out there, my parents have taught me that everything happens for a reason, God is in control and has a plan for my life, and "all things work together for good to those who love Him"; so I continued to work hard in practice, keep a good attitude and study hard.
Now it's my senior season. I am a starter, leader and co-captain of the varsity team and can't wait to contribute to the team's success. This summer I ran most of the open gyms for the high school level.. That was a great opportunity to connect with the younger players and help them develop their game. I've worked hard on my game and studies, and cannot wait to see where God will lead me to play college ball.
