Personal Statement
I work everyday to learn and improve so I can make my dream of playing basketball in college a reality. My sophomore year I was the only sophomore playing on varsity. Our team ended a historic season ranked 5th in the state, 28-3 with those losses being to Stevenson who won the 4A state championship. I played in every game that season coming off the bench. My junior year I was a starter at the point, leading my team at the PG position with a high basketball IQ, but also playing the SG as the leading three point shooter on the team. We ended the season 18-10 losing in the regional finals on a buzzer beater. I was voted All Conference and All area. I lead our team in 3 Pointers, 3 point %, FT % at 82%, assists and steals and was third in rebounding. My job, my goal, my mission is to be the best passer, shooter, defender and teammate-all day every day. I am a strong student and work as hard in the classroom as I do on the court and in the practice gym, because I know with hard work results come. If you work harder and smarter than anyone around you, results come. If you were to talk to my teachers, coaches, teammates or friends, I am a leader on the court and the classroom. I am a student of the game, of my competitor and make it my mission to know my teammates inside and out. This year I will captain our team and am excited for what we can do this year in one of the most competitive conferences in the state. I want to make the dream of playing basketball and getting a great education that will set me up for a successful future a reality. That is what motivates me each and everyday. I love this game.
