Starting out, I struggled to make it to the top. I was playing on the B team for my 7th, 8th, and 9th grade years, but the love for the game was always there. Going into my sophmore year I was tired of not playing so I practiced everyday, started working out, and luckily grew a foot in a year and a half. By the start of my junior year summer league, I had surpassed every player in my position and earned a starting position on the varsity team. Not only did I start, I was putting up double digits per game and was a very valuable team player in both assists & defensively. I have grown a lot as a player in the past few years, and I feel more potential rising each time I hit the court. I hope to take my basketball career to the next level and grow more as a player.

Vannis is working privately with Coach Ernst on offensive play-making. Specifically, focusing on reading and attacking on-ball defenders, making plays at the rim, finishing through contact, moving without the ball, and shooting with consistency. In addition, working on series of moves and counters to help score against any type of defender. Vannis takes pride on the defensive side of the ball as well. Coach Ernst works with Vannis to hone his skills defensively, both on the ball and in help position. Vannis, with Coach Ernst's guidance, works extensively to evolve on both sides of the ball.
