Ever since I first started playing basketball at the age of 5 at the local YMCA I have loved the game of basketball. I believe its the competitiveness, the challenge, the speed, and most importantly working as a Team that has developed my strong love for the game. Since joining my first AAU team in the 6th grade, I believe my basketball IQ has grown immensely by playing for a coach that has coached at the collegiate level. I now know the hard work and determination it takes to get to the next level, and over the last 2 years I have spent the off-seasons training, and getting stronger so I can someday reach my goals to become a college basketball player.
Myself, as an athlete, I have always been one of the tallest kids in class, and on my team, so growing up I was always forced into playing the post, with my back to the basket. However, over the last 2-3 years I have developed a very nice outside game as well, working more as a Power Forward, and even being able to step outside and knock down the 3 as well. So now I truly believe that I have become a very well-rounded player being able to play multiple positions on the court.
Myself, as a student, I have always worked hard to maintain good grades throughout school. I recently transferred to a private school this year, which is more of a college prep school. I am currently earning college credits in some of my classes, which I believe will better prepare me academically for the next level as well. I am currently carrying a 3.5 GPA, which will be updated after this 1st semester.
