Personal Statement
My name is Michael Huff and I'm a varsity player at Grant Community High School and also play for Kessel Heats AAU National Team.
At a very young age I was passionate about basketball. Starting from when I could barely walk and was throwing balls at a little tykes basketball hoop to the thunderous applause of my family which began my love of the game.
Basketball has always been and integral part of my life and over the passing years my dedication only grew. I experienced great success at every level of play and upon coming in at the high school level, I broke many long standing school records including three point percentage, total points per season and free throw percentage at both my freshman and sophomore levels.
Moving up my junior year to a Varsity team that years previously only had a three game winning record for the season, I was anxious to earn my spot. Prior to my official start the team had a (3 and 6 record) and after my official start our team went on to lose only 1 game the rest of the season and took home conference and regional championships that the school had not accomplished in over three decades.
I was proud no only to have been part of such an emotional experience with the team and for my school, but, felt a great sense of pride that I had helped achieve that .
Playing basketball has allowed me to establish lifelong friendships and helped me to understand that having passion an satisfaction is essential in achieving true happiness.
I love the prospect of continuing to play at a higher level all while earning an education and laying the building blocks for what will be the rest of my life. Every day whether its in basketball or in the classroom I strive to show dedication, passion, perseverance, loyalty and strength.
I already am excited and looking forward to the next chapter of my life and am fully committed to learning, developing and growing to be the best teammate, student and man I can be.
