As I finished up my 7th grade school basketball season, I was asked by my dad if I would like to continue to play basketball through the spring and summer. I was that kid who enjoyed playing a different sport with each season, but I knew it was time for me to make some choices. That's when the goal to become the best basketball player I could be placed me on one of the worst teams in the league. From that day, each time I was given the opportunity to try out for a team, I had to use my skills to earn the trust and respect of my coaches and teammates. As a point guard, I had to show my coach through my confidence, calmness, and leadership abilities that I could be his voice on the court. These past experiences have helped me to build character and a strong work ethic.
Now that I'm entering my last year of high school, I am wanting to focus my goals on staying at the top of my class academically and pursuing the opportunity to play basketball at the next level. I have always had a patient and unselfish personality that is reflected through my style of play which I feel has been an asset to every team I've been a part of. I hope to find a college that is a good academic fit for me with a basketball program that can benefit from my strengths and help me to continue to grow in my abilities as a player.
