Darrell Hutchison Jr '15 Recruiting Profile

I am a senior playing forward for Crispus Attucks High School. I have been a starter on the varsity basketball team for four years. I am 6'4'' tall and my weight is 220 pounds. Currently, my season averages for points and rebounds are 20.9 and 9.1. I hold the school record for points in a season (427), rebounds (179), and rebounding average (10). In addition, I have scored over 1000 points in my career. On the defensive side I am called on to defend post and wing players. Plus, I'm averaging 1.45 steals per game which shows my overall impact as a player. Averaged 23 pts which led Attucks to the Sectional 43 IHSAA championship in 2014. Helped lead Attucks to repeat as Sectional 43 champs in 2015 as well  I have been selected twice to the Indianapolis All City Team (3rd team in 2014 and 1st team in 2015). and the Pioneer All Conference Team in 2014. I am a two time team MVP (2012 & 2014). In addition, I've shown to be a good student in the classroom as well. My current semester g.p.a is 3.4/4.0 and my overall g.p.a is 2.9/4.0. My coursework has included, English (honors), Chemistry, Latin and pre Calculus. I have a good reputation among my teachers and coaches as well. For example I was selected by my school to be an Indianapolis Public Schools (IPS) Athlete of Character in 2012. Lastly, I've been co-captain of the varsity team for two years (2013-15). In college, I would like to major in broadcasting and to play basketball as well. Ultimately, I want to play professionally in the NBA. I am a talented, hard working kid willing to make myself better. I love the game of basketball and have been playing since the age of three. I can make a positive contribution to the team and the school if given the opportunity.
