My collegiate goals and aspirations are to receive a full ride athletic and academic scholarship to a strong academic university who has a competitive basketball program where I can succeed on and off the court. Academically, it is my goal to obtain a degree in applied mathematics and go into a career where I can use my analytical mind to evaluate current data and help companies make better choices based on this analysis. I also plan on being a trader and use this knowledge to give back by teaching teens how to trade.
My freshman year, I was a small forward, my sophomore year our center and my junior year I played every position, depending on where the team needed me. I am the type of player who gets more pumped about assists, communicating on defense, encouraging my teammates, getting steals and breaking up the other team’s plays than on scoring baskets myself. Team ball, focused and controlled, with fast break opportunities when able, is the type of play in which I most excel.
In addition to the above, what really sets me apart is my commitment to my team, my academics, my family and friends and my basketball IQ. As with many athletes, I have a story, but I have never let my circumstances get in the way of being the best I can be in the classroom, in my church, with my family and friends or on the court. In fact, even though going into my freshman year, I had only lived in Fishers, Indiana for two years, I was voted captain of our freshman basketball team by the other players on the team. To me, it is an honor to be seen as a leader of the team and to hold this role. Finally, I respect others and know that together basketball players accomplish a lot more when we work together as a team.
