Personal Statement
Being a son of a high school basketball coach has allowed me to grow up in a gym with a basketball in my hands for as long as I can remember. My parents have always taught me to set goals for myself throughout my life. One goal is to play basketball at the next level. To do that, I work at it everyday! Last summer, brought about a new challenge. I have played on a AAU team for 3 years. This year, my playing time wasn't what I had expected. It taught me to work harder, step out of my comfort zone and make them need me. I continue to go to their open gyms and the comments I have received tell me they are seeing my improvements . My hard work continues to pay off during my high school season as well; I am the leading scorer, leading assist, blocks and currently undefeated.
Currently, I am looking for a school that will prepare me for law school with a concentration in sports management. As I continue to grow both physically and mentally I will strive to be a asset for a college basketball team on and off the court. I will conduct myself with honor and respect knowing that I am part of a team that reflects the school I attend. I am a quick study, I understand the game, I am defense strong, have quick hands and a quick first step and will continue to work hard to be the best I can be. Basketball is in my blood and I look forward to taking it to the next level.
