Personal Statement

Finished out Jr year with 5 A's and 2 B's 3.75.  This taking Chemistry, Anatomy & Physiology, College level College Algebra, Spanish.... My cumulative GPA is 3.5+.  College goal is to maintain a solid GPA (3.5+) focusing my education in Pre-Physical Therapy/Kinesiology/Sports Medicine, while I continue playing Basketball at the college level.

Started playing Basketball in grade school and rec. ball (encouraged to play because I was taller than the other boys).  I fell in love with the game -- hooked.  Since then, I've become very dedicated to the sport, and put most of my free time into improving my game.  Last year I improved a lot in my game skills and leadership abilities.  Junior year taught me a lot about sacrifice and focus as our team lost our head coach in January (we were 15 - 1 at the time); we continued to pull together as a team and finished out winning our Sub-State, and playing at State at Bramlage Coliseum (where I was the top scorer of my team with 18 points and 10 rebounds).  Our season ended at a 25 - 3 record.

My immediate athletic goals are to:  beef-up a bit (target is 20 lbs.), in AAU summer competition - increased shot range/accuracy and ball handling.

I really enjoy the close friendships with my teammates, and living in a small town in Western Kansas.  I also have had a great time spending summers in a suburb of Wichita, KS.  So I will be happy in either setting; I am very out-going.  I am a person of strong character -- no partying or social media foolishness.  When I was 14, my father passed away unexpectedly.  This has taught me to evaluate my choices carefully, and that life is precious.  I focus on living my life honestly, and with integrity.
