Personal Statement
My goal is to play basketball at a college which has highly selective academic standards. I would like to use my basketball ability partnered with my academic qualifications to attend a school that will provide me with the environment to reach my fullest potential as a collegiate student athlete.
Basketball has always been my passion. After sixth grade, I decided to forego baseball and football to focus on basketball. As a high school freshman, I got to compete against Div I players to be Perry Ellis (KU) and Conner Frankamp (KU). The Wichita City League is, arguably, the most competitive league in the state of Kansas. I am beginning my fourth spring/summer playing with Next Level Hoops Academy in Wichita, KS.
This past year, I visited college campuses in the Midwest. At this point, I’m still open to various campus settings, but anticipate that I will like the smaller, less urban campuses.
I would like to begin my college career majoring in the area of health sciences. I am, currently, interested in sports medicine. I have been accepted into the St. Gianna Health Care Academy at my high school for my senior year. This class will introduce me to all levels of healthcare from support services such as biomedical technicians to therapeutic services like physical therapists and pharmacists. I will also learn about anatomy, medical terminology, health information systems, safety practices, employability skills, legal and ethical standards and much more.
I pride myself in being a team player who is willing to work hard. I'm looking for a team who values those qualities.
