Personal Statement
As a 6'8" sixteen year old, I know that I have been blessed more than most men of my age. However, I believe that you can't teach a strong work ethic or a steadfast desire, and it's in those areas that I feel I outperform other players with whom I share the court and the classroom.
On the court I try to lead by example; both in practice and during competitive play. I'm an unselfish player who sincerely believes that a player's individual statistics mean nothing when compared to his team's overall record. As the varsity starting Center I'm called upon to score, rebound, and block shots, but I take just as much pride in doing things that don't show up on the stat sheet: Chasing down loose balls, hustling down the court, and rallying around my teammates when they need their confidence lifted.
It's long been a dream of mine to play basketball after High School, and I know that if given the opportunity I can become a valuable asset to both your University and it's basketball team; all I need is the chance.
