I am the older of two male children born to Jackie and Jason Dobraska on April 30, 2001. My brother and I have lived solely with our mother since our parents divorced, after 17 years of marriage, when I was 10 years old.
At a very young age I started showing interest in physical fitness and began doing sit ups, push ups and pull ups every night before going to bed. I have always been interested in sports. I began participating in team sports at the young age of three at the YMCA. At the age of six I began playing recreational sports such as basketball, baseball and football. In the past few years I have been drawn more to football & basketball so I began to solely focus on and spend all of my time training and playing these sports. I have played under several different coaches in many different types of venues from recreational to high school and AAU. I learn something new from every experience and I know there is so much more that I don’t yet know. My freshman year of high school I attended St. Paul’s, a private Catholic School in the area. Everything was new and different, as I had attended public school my whole life until then. I was not eligible to play football due to the transfer so I tried out for the basketball team and made it. I earned a starting spot on that team and worked really hard throughout the year. I learned a lot that year and I ended up being the recipient of the coveted Coaches Award at the end of the season. When I am not playing or training myself, I enjoy coaching the younger kids on recreational teams.
I am not certain of my career path at this time but I do know I am interested in continuing along the lines of athletics. I am interested in something along the lines of a personal trainer or physical therapist or possibly something more involved such as in a coaching capacity.
I am excited to be on this journey and look forward to connecting with a great coach. A coach that pushes and also encourages their team to be the best they can be on and off the field. I am looking for a mutually beneficial relationship with a coach and a team that strive for excellence in all that they do. I want to be a great contributor on a team with a great group of young men that want to excel, In this sport as well as in all aspects of life. I am a very versatile player and I want to learn as much as possible from the best and be able to implement those teachings to be the best person, player, teammate and leader before, during and after “game time”.
