I have been a member of sports teams since I was 4 years old. I am a 3 sport athlete (soccer, basketball, and lacrosse). As a sophomore, I was selected to the varsity level team for basketball and lacrosse. I was a starter for the basketball team. I am a leader and can motivate my team to accomplish the goals that we set for ourselves. Our basketball team was able to win the Division title for the first time in 20 years in 2014. It was a great accomplishment and I was proud to be a part of the team.
What sets me apart is my natural ability to adapt. Being a 3 sport athlete, I have to be in great physical shape throughout the entire year. I never back down in my training and work diligently to achieve peak condition. Academics have never been strong for me, but I try hard and get my work done to the best of my ability. I am working this year to bring up my GPA and hope to achieve something higher this year. I have actually opted to not join elite teams so that I can focus on my grades in this important year.
One of my greatest attributes and something that coaches has always considered a strong key to my success is that I am very calculating. I am not the player that is overly vocal, but I am a thinker. I watch plays take shape and determine the best course of action. That is why I have a great success rate of blocks on the basketball court. I have long arms and an extended reach. I go to where the ball is going to be rather than where it is. I listen to my coaches directions and don't question them. I am there to learn and grow as a player.
