My name is Otis Wheeler and I am a senior at South High Community School where I am captain and play small forward and guard for the varsity basketball team. I have played varsity basketball all 4 years of high school; freshman and sophomore years at Holy Name Central Catholic High, before transferring to South in my junior year.
I played AAU basketball for the Blackstone Valley Chaos and the Worcester Sting Elite, participating in a variety of tournaments and camps in the New England area. I participated in the Kingsway/Crompton Park Summer League for the last 3 seasons, and last year my team made it to the summer semi-finals.
I am active in community service projects; most recently participating in the Project Bread Walk for Hunger. I have also served as a volunteer camp counselor at the Back to Basics and Worcester Pay It Forward basketball camps.
During the 2014-2015 season, I was named to the Inter-High All-Stars First Team, received Honorable Mention Division 1, was named Bartlett Holiday Tournament MVP, as well as South High Boys Basketball MVP.
My dream is to play basketball competitively at the collegiate level and to further my education and receive a college degree. I am an active member of my senior class, continue to motivate my teammates and peers, and work hard to make it to the next level.
