Deion Hammond '17 Recruiting Profile

Though I'm not as strong as I would like to be academically, I do like school and the social atmosphere that it provides.  I love to play basketball, because it is my passion and my love.  I would like to go far and excel in every aspect of the game.  I am a hard worker and dedicated athlete and I believe that is what it takes to be successful. Basketball has been a part of my life for as long as I can remember, from watching my older brother and dad playing to playing on my first team at age 7.  I have always visioned myself playing college basketball for a D1 or D2 university and maybe eventually playing at the professional level after receiving a degree in Sports Medicine.  I come from a strong background of the belief that getting a good education is first and foremost and that will enable you to do the things you enjoy and love (like basketball).  I really get a great feeling when I play in front of a crowd and impress them with my skills and love of the game.  I have a strong work ethic and will do all I have to do to receive the opportunity to display my skills and talents to a larger audience.
