Personal Statement

I am a natural athlete with excellent shooting ability (both 3-point and mid-range) and good court awareness. I am an excellent finisher at the rim and a team leader.  I led my high school team (Thomas Stone H.S, Waldorf, MD) in scoring my senior year with a (19.0 pg) average and was selected 1st Team All-County, 1st Team ALL-Conference,  and 3rd Team All-State. I received a full athletic scholarship in 2018-19 to attend the University of Charleston (W.V) and I am currently a red-shirt sophomore at Garrett College (JUCO) in McHenry, MD, where I lead my team with a 20.2 ppg scoring average, a 48.6% FG shooting percentage and a 38.6% 3PT shooting percentage. After graduation in Spring 2023, I am looking to transfer to a 4-year institution that is an excellent fit culturally and athletically. I currently have two years of Division I and Division II eligibility remaining  I believe that I am an ideal candidate for the right Division I or II basketball program and would make an excellent addition to their 2023-24 roster.

I come from a family with a very strong basketball tradition. My first cousin, Akil Mitchell currently plays overseas and is a former NBA D League player for Grand Rapids (Houston Rockets) Akil is also a former All-ACC power forward for the University of Virginia (2010-2014). My dad also played college basketball and I have two cousins who are currently playing Division I and Division II basketball. I love basketball and movies. My Ultimate goal is to play Division I college basketball and become an Entrepreneur (like my Dad) after I finish my basketball career.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
