As the youngest athlete in a family devoted to sports, I've been encouraged to set high goals and continually improve. My interest in playing basketball at a competitive college has been a dream of mine since I was little. As a child, I watched both my brothers play at the high school level, which further drove my desire to improve my skills and ability to play in college.
Playing basketball has taught me several life-lessons including how to become a star athlete, how to be a strong team leader, dedication and teamwork. My emphasis on these attributes led me to become a starter for the varsity team of my high school as a freshman. Following the season, my coach rewarded my hard work and dedication by naming me captain for next year's team. During high school my goal is to maintain a high GPA and position myself to enter a competitive college.
As a college athlete, I would continue to drive myself both on the court and in the classroom. My goal in college is to pursue a career in business while playing and being successful in basketball.
