Personal Statement
Sport: Basketball - Position: Forward at Calvert High School (Prince Frederick, MD) Graduation Year: 2015- Personal Statement: My name is Malik James, a senior at Calvert High School. I am 6 foot 3 inches, 210 pound forward. I am a starter on my high school varsity team and one of the captains and starters on my AAU team.
What I bring to any team is my leadership, whether I am the team captain or not. Sometimes you have to lead from the bench. I have a lot of drive that does not allow me to give up, and I will not allow any of my teammates to give up either. I know I have to put in the time to be successful, typically the first one on the court and the last to leave; I believe that if I'm on the court or in the classroom you must give 1000%.
I strive to succeed in everything I do in life. I'm a hard worker on and off the court. I love to learn new things that could help me push and make myself a better person and player! I refer to myself as a student athlete, an education is first in my eyes. If you can't get it done in the classroom, I don't think you should be rewarded to get it done on the court.
