Personal Statement

Hello Coaches and Scouts . . .

I was introduced to athletics at a young age and couldn't imagine my life without competing and learning all the life skills that athletics provides me on a dialy basis. I aspire to reachest the highest level of competition at any one of the 3 sports that I participate in and look forward to the challenges and fun ahead! I've learned from all my great coaches ( including the many years of being taught and pushed by my dad ) that the only way to achieve my goals is through hard work and participating at the highest levels of competition! With this being said, I have been a part of some great elite spring/summer AAU basketball programs with the Minnesota Stealth, SE Mn Thunder and the SE MN Lightning. In addition I've played at the highest level of baseball with the Minnesota Rage, Northstar Baseball and Stars & Stripes and at the highest level with our local Stars travelers for the past 4 years! In football I've finally achieved my goal ( after not being able to play a skill position because of size restrictions ) to play QB for my class and recently being invited to the exclusive Under Armour Elite QB camp at the U of Wisconsin next summer!

Lastly, I am a gym rat and love the winters in Minnesota, because it's basketball season!! I've tried out and have been invitedto compete for the D1 Elite - Mn Nice and Crossfire Teams here in the Area before deciding to play with the Lightning.

What makes me stand out? I believe that I learned at an early age that hard work on the athletic field/court and in the classroom translates to opportunities to excel. In playing with the teams that I have I've created a lot of life long friends and contacts that will hopefully help me achieve my life goals come high school, college and beyond!

I'm ready for the challenge . . .. bring it on!!!

  • Teyghan led his team in scoring, rebounding and assists in all 4 games played and was named to the events Top 10 and the All-Star Game ..... Write Ups from Prep Hoops Writers .....( Ryan James/Prep Hoops Mn ) The guy who really blew me away was Teyghan Hovland of Austin. At 6-foot-4 Hovland played point, he spent time at both wing spots, and with his strength at times he guarded power forwards. That’s the versatility of Hovland who is surely one of the best passers in the 2020 class plus his ball handling talent allowed him to get a step into the paint to touch in shots. He can rebound, Hovland can pass, he handles, and this year he led the Lightning to many big wins as a key scorer. This is a player that should give Austin three really good years.

NCSA COLLEGE RECRUITING®

NCSA College Recruiting® (NCSA) is the nation’s leading collegiate recruiting source for more than 500,000 student-athletes and 42,000 college coaches. By taking advantage of this extensive network, more than 92 percent of NCSA verified athletes play at the college level. The network is available to high school student-athletes around the country through valued relationships with the NFLPA, FBU, NFCA and SPIRE. Each year, NCSA educates over 4 million athletes and their parents about the recruiting process through resources on its website, presentations of the critically-acclaimed seminar College Recruiting Simplified, and with Athletes Wanted, the book written by NCSA founder Chris Krause.
