Hello, my name is Jayvyn Goode. I stand 6’5” 215 lbs I play the wing. I went to school and graduated from Liberty North HS. Been playing ball since I was seven years old. I have high functioning autism. It doesn‘t define me or effect my play I just lear differently. It is actually a super power the more I learn the better I get. And I train a-lot and I am looking for a opportunity on the Juco level. I would love to redshirt my first year get the speed of the game with practice. It is the to my success in practice and life. I can help any team I am on cause I know how to play the role I am given by my coach.
I love the weight room I am in it everyday. Thats why facilities are important I just need a weight room and we can make the magic happen. I am strong I played football four years in high school also ran track. So I am a harder worker. I was the last guy cut all four years in HS. I was told by the head coach, “ Jay, the way you play I don‘t think you will be able to learn the plays it is complicated for a player like you.” I told coach thank you I will-see you next year. I was given the same speech every year. I practiced every fundamental, I talk on the court, I make my teammates shine. I am a pick and roll, and pick and pop nightmare in-the midrange area. I play the wing area in a 5 man out set. I can knock down the corner three. Defend with a wide base 1-5. My length is a problem on defense. I need reps in practice thats why a red shirt year would be essential and crucial in my development. I am open to camps. I am working on my conditioning so I can attend JuCo showcases next summer. All I am saying is I have a dream and I will see it through. I don’t make excuses I get results.
Give me the opportunity I am going to destroy nay sayers who think as a autistic child I cannot play. It will be debunked. I will make sure of it.
My parents stuck with me. My dad never got chance to see me play a high-school game. One of the coldest trainers I seen him work with Kansas City legends that went on to play college and professionally. My dad was stricken with MS. It took alot but he still believe. A though it pains him to try. He is in the gym getting my rebounds and schooling me on one leg. His love for the game is my love for the game. Having fun getting better every day No matter the trial. We working on me learning combo guard skills to go with my wing skills and I have post moves. I have a jump hook over either shoulder with either hand. I work out a lot. I want my mom to see me play once. She works so much and so hard. That is my back bone always encouraging me that my time will come just keep working harder. Best advice of my life.
This is me coaches I stand on faith, loyalty, and commitment. On that note… My name is Jayvyn Mont’e Goode the son of Zacharias and Nicole Goode. The big brother of Kimora Goode. An I am a basketball player that is unsigned and available. Looking for any thing to help ne reach my goal.
