My passion for basketball began when I was 3 years old and could first hold a basketball. During daycare, my friends and I would play on the Fisher Price basketball hoop all day pretending we were major basketball players. As I got older, and began participating in organized basketball in my community, I learned about the brotherhood of athletes and the importance of teamwork. One person does not control the outcome of a game, but the whole team does. I soon understood the importance of putting time in to my craft to become a better player and developed a strong work ethic that is critical to success.
Contributing to my desire to be a successful student-athletic at the collegiate level includes my overcoming the transition from public school to a private high school as a freshman. The stronger curriculum and expectations developed my ability to learn at a higher level and realize that I had to put in more work and could not “coast through.”
On the court, I have the innate ability to see circumstances happening before they do and enjoy being a student of the game. I remain calm, don’t over-react and feel that I get better each day. I try not be a perfectionist, but to be the best teammate I can be. I like to have fun, but take things seriously when there is work to be done (having a consistent 3-point shot helps). The stats you see provided are reflective of my AAU season during the summer of 2016.
I am seeking a college that will be a good fit for me athletically as well as academically. I believe I not only have the talent to compete for a college team, but the character and work-ethic needed to be a successful contributor to the program.
