Personal Statement
I would love to play college basketball as I continue my education and work towards future goals. My academic standing is excellent with a 3.87 GPA. I was chosen to participate in the Duke Talent Search in 7th grade scoring a 17 on the ACT. Last year as a sophomore I raised my score to a 25. I am known at my school as a scholar athlete.
My dedication to basketball is greater than my success in academics. I have a very strong work ethic spending countless hours training, conditioning, and improving my game. I have the great fortune to work with a personal trainer who played professional basketball in Europe. He has taught me the finer points of the game and helps me improve my shooting, ball handling, passing and defensive techniques. Stats don't always indicate the best aspect of my game. I can drop dimes. The local paper has referred to my passes as "highlight reel" quality.
My character is beyond reproach. I was chosen to be part of an elite group of character athletes at my school. Every coach I've played for calls me "extremely coachable: and knows I am the ultimate team player on and off the court willing to do whatever necessary to win.
I am looking forward with the hope of playing college basketball and continuing my education.
