Personal Statement
It has always been my goal to play college basketball while earning a four-year degree. Education is just as important to me as athletics, and my work ethic on the court carries over into my grades and academic success.
Throughout high school, I have dedicated my off season to improving my game by playing AAU basketball in the spring and summer, attending camps, participating in the 10,000 shot club, and conditioning with basketball-specific lifting three or more times a week. I work on my game every single day. I have strong athleticism, ball handling, passing and mid-range abilities, and
I am also very coachable and take everything my coach says to heart. I was told I had to become a better leader after my freshman year playing on JV, if I wanted to be the varsity point guard as a sophomore. That offseason, I attended a week-long PGC (Point Guard College) essentials camp at the University of Washington which focused on all the key attributes needed to be a point guard. Leadership was heavily emphasized. The camp changed my game and mindset, and made me a better point guard and a better individual overall. I returned to the camp the summer after my sophomore year.
Big Sky High School has had a struggling basketball program for many years, only securing a spot at the state tournament the last two out of six years. I plan to do so again my senior year, and have even more success when we get there.
*Please note that Montana has no shot clock in place effecting time of possession, and statistics. Its a very slow paced game.
