Personal Statement

I want to go to college to get my degree and a great job. If I'm able to play basketball in college it would be a dream come true.I attend Kinston High School in Kinston North Carolina. I am a member of the National Society of High School Scholars. .I played varsity as a freshmen, I was usually the 6th sometimes 7th man off the bench we had 3 seniors. My sophmore season there were 10 seniors. I started at times but I had to wait patiently for my number to be called but when I played I did whatever it took for us to get a VICTORY!! My upcoming junior season means alot to me because I waited patiently and I put in alot of hard work. My character is different because I'm a little goofy .I like to keep a smile on everyone's face and make everybody happy. I really don't know what my differences are from other recruits, because I try to set my own path to follow. My athleticism and abilities I think are very solid.I have always been very competitive when I step on that court I try and give my best effort every time. My academics may be different because my GPA is a 3.4, and I'm working everyday just to get it higher. I think I'm a good candidate for any team because I'm always trying get my teammates the ball in their spots, so they can score as well as myself. That should always be a point guards main focus.I've played aau basketball for eleven years now, one year with Swish city... One year with NC Runnin Rebels.. and one year with StackHouse elite. Now I play for my dad on the Kinston Heat . If my other teams didn't have a tournament going on I would go back and play for Kinston Heat, but my dad put me on those teams because at the time they were traveling more than Kinston Heat. I've been playing for my dad my whole entire life. He doesn't show me any sympathy or go easy on me just because I'm his son. He yells at me even when I do I good things to make sure I do it even better. I love playing for my dad.I don't always like when he yells at me, but he always tells me if I can take him yelling and correcting me then I'll  be able to take any coach doing the same. Last summer I started working on my jump shot and I really see the difference. My parents never count how many points me or my little brother score, they count mistakes such as missed lay ups, free throws, turnovers and I feel that my DEFENSE has really improved. This year my team (Kinston Heat ) are traveling doing more exposure tournaments and we are doing really good. We are doing mostly Big Shot tournaments and it's a lot of good competition. That's what I like, I want to go against the best.
