Michael Parker '19 Recruiting Profile

My goal is to play for a college or university with strong academics and basketball program committed to a TEAM and winning culture.   I am a fierce competitor and a winner.  I have started on the varsity basketball team since my freshman year, have contributed to the best overall record,  achieved best stats in several categories (points, reb, FG%) in my school's history, while earning outside recognition (2x first team all conference; 1st team all area - only forward in southeast North Carolina; multiple all tournament teams; and MVP's).  I'm a versatile 6'6" forward who can handle the ball, stretch the floor, and can score from any position.  I have a 4.7 cumulative GPA, have taken 5 AP courses,  scored a 1300 composite SAT score, and have been involved in many school activities and volunteer work outside of basketball.

I was first inspired to pursue basketball in grade school when my coaches saw potential and encouraged me.  Ever since, I have been thoroughly committed to the process.  My will to win, will to prepare to win, will to compete, and servant leader approach have enabled me to help make all teams better and to compete successfully against top ranked players.  I work on my game everyday and am not afraid to work on my weaknesses. It has always been a dream of mine to play at the collegiate level, and my hard work is fueled by that constant hunger.
