Derek Haber '16 Recruiting Profile

I am currently in my Junior year in High School and I am very interested in playing basketball in college. I enjoy the sport and working as a team to improve each and every game. My (his first year with our school)coach selected the 3 seniors on the team to be the captains. Then the seniors asked me to be their speaking captain for them, which I was very excited to have the opportunity to step into this position. I love to stay after practice with my coaches and work on my shooting and free throws. I am working on improving my free throws since they can make or break a game sometimes. My free throw percentage is 76% I have shot 164 free throws this year and have made 125 of them. I currently average about 17 points, 3-5 assists, and 3.5 rebounds per game. I belong to a organization at the school that is called "I Help", we do a lot of community service things in the area. I enjoy the satisfaction of helping the elderly, the school, city and state activities. I have been on honor roll every year since 2010, my seventh grade year. My GPA is 3.7 out of 4.0. I believe grades are very important part of school. I like to keep active all year round I am on the football, basketball, golf and baseball teams, also the school band. I am with a few other students who are trying to start a student council in our school to be more involved with the decisions that happen at the school.
