In the last three years of basketball I have learned it's more team before self, friendship before teammate, and hard work and sacrifice while playing or not that will bring great personal growth and success.
I can appreciate what basketball has taught me about myself. I have found that I crave competitive environments. I have learned to remain persistent amid disappointments. I have learned to embrace intense preparation in working with a team toward a common goal, and most importantly, how to be a compassionate, competitive, enthusiastic leader on and off the court.
I understand there is more to life than basketball, but without it, life is not as much fun.
