Personal Statement
Hi coach,
My name is Bryan Rivers. I am 6'2, 185 junior. I am transferring from Pace University, New York. My sophomore season I averaged 12.8 points, 4.6 rebounds, and 3.5 assist. My career high was 26 points, 6 assists, 9 rebounds in a win vs. Merrimack. Career high in points, 28 in win vs. Adelphi. I led the team freshman and sophomore year in assists with 98 assist my sophomore year. I scored in double figures in 19 out of 28 games. I played in 7 games this past season and due to injury I was not able to finish my junior year of play and can file for my medical red shirt.
I was a post grad at The Peddie School, in Hightstown, New Jersey. I was a varsity starter for 4 years at West Windsor Plainsboro South High School where I finished as the school’s all-time leading scorer with 1458 points. During my senior, I averaged 24.3 points, 7 rebounds and 5 assists per game. I finished # 2 in the state of New Jersey in total points with 705, # 5 in scoring average and led the state in made free throws. I have developed my game every year and was selected the Colonial Valley Conference Player of the Year by the coaches. I was also awarded 1st team All-Conference, 1st team All South Jersey, 1st team All-State Group 4 and 3rd team All-State Seniors.
As a junior I made 1st team All-Conference, 3rd team All-Area, 3rd team All-State Juniors, 3rd team All-South Jersey and 3rd team All-State group 4.
In AAU competition I have made numerous Hoop Group Jamfest top performance teams. At Elite camps I've made the all-star teams at Jr Elite, Hoop Group Fab Frosh Super Soph, the top 40 game at Hoop Group Elite and led the Hoop Group Team camp in scoring with 23.8ppg. This year at Hoop Group Elite I made that top 20 all-star game and had 18 points and 4 assists.
I am dedicated to working hard and doing everything I can to take my game to the next level. My main goal is to win because winning makes everyone happy and being a point guard, nothing is more important than making my teammates happy and successful. I want to go to a school with great academics and athletics. At the college level, I want to make an impact and contribute to the team's success. My personal athletic goal is to become the best player I can be and reach my full potential.
