My name is Alexandre “Alex” Ionesco. I was born on the 1st of February 2000 in France. I now live since 2009 in the United States of America and it is in the U.S. that I started playing basketball at 12 years old. I’m a 6'2", 170lbs Point Guard, I will also if needed play the Shooting Guard position. I’m a 16 year old rising senior at The Awty International School in Houston Texas. I am the starting Point Guard for the Varsity team. I also play AAU summer basketball with TJ Ford Elite. I consider myself as a leader on and off the court, I am very dedicated and I am probably one of the hardest workers that you will ever meet.
During my freshman year, I played both Junior Varsity and Varsity. I started on the Junior Varsity team and averaged 11.2 points, 3.1 rebounds and 4.88 assists per game. As for Varsity, I was a role player and I finished the season averaging 3.4 points, 1.75 rebounds and 2.4 assists per game. As far as AAU basketball, my freshman summer was my first year with TJ Ford Elite, I averaged 6.5 points, 3 rebounds and 3.6 assists per game for the whole season.
During my sophomore year, I played for the Varsity team and I was a starter. We had a very young team and we did not have a great season. I averaged 9.3 points, 2.7 rebounds and 3 assists per game for the whole season. I would not say that I was very happy with my Sophomore High School basketball season as we struggled and had a losing record. During my AAU season with TJ Ford Elite I ended up averaging 7.1 points, 2.375 rebounds and 2.35 assists per game.
During my junior year, I played for the Varsity team again and I was still a starter. This season was a lot better than last years. Our record ended up being better than last years. I averaged 9.625 points, 3.79 rebounds and 5.125 assists per game for this season. For AAU I played with TJ Ford Elite again and I averaged 3.3 points, 2.2 rebounds and 1.7 assists per game. This was a dissapointing AAU season, I didn't perform and I didn't play to the best of my abilities.
During my senior year, I played for the Varsity team for the fourth year and I was a starter. This season was full of up and downs. We kept on improving from the past years. I ended up averaging 16.7 points, 4.2 rebounds and 3.2 assists per game for this season. For AAU I played with Houston Hoops Elite and I averaged...
As I skipped a grade and I am in advancce compared to other students, I go to a French school and I started Basketball not to long ago. I've made the decision to go to a prep school in New Hampshire next as a Post Grad for the 2017-18 school year. I am now a Class of 2018 recruit and I am attending The New Hampton School.
I would love to play college and professional basketball. I am interested in playing Division I, Division II but Division III, JUCO and NAIA also. I know that with my hard work and dedication I will be able to achieve this dream.
As a player, I pride myself in being able to get to the rim at any time with my crafty handles and my finishing abilities. I strive under contact at the rim. I use my quickness and speed to beat everybody down the court in transition. I can also use my drives to get others involved as the defense collapses. I have a decent shot with a quick release that allows me to knock down mid-range and three point shots. I mainly focus on getting to my sweet spots in the mid-range game and use my jumper there. I work on improving my shot each and every day as I know I still have work to do. I am also a good on ball defender and I love playing aggressive defense and getting steals to get on the fast break.
Academically, I hold 3.8 GPA. I am a serious student athlete and I know that without good grades, playing basketball at the next level is impossible. In college, I would like to study majors related to sports. As of right now, my preferred majors are:
I took SAT classes and did my SAT tests. The best score that I received was 1120/1600 with 590 in Math and 530 in Reading and Writing.
