I am a complete all-round player who takes as much pride in my defense as my offense. My skills are versatile enough to complement any style of play whether more transition or half-court oriented. I have been playing basketball competitively since 2013 when I played for Carroll Middle School in Raleigh. I have learned that to succeed in this game you have to continually work on your craft. Not only have I improved my shot but I have worked to improve my ability to take it to the rim. I pride myself on being able to shut down the opposition’s best shooters and I have successfully guarded and rebounded against bigger players. I also use my basketball IQ to adjust to changing game situations and to help my teammates succeed on the court as well. Through basketball I have learned to work hard to overcome obstacles. After getting cut my freshman year at Sanderson, I became the JV team manager. As the manager, I attended every practice and kept the stat books for every game. After a lot of hard work and getting to know the players and coaches I was the only sophomore to make JV that was not on the team as a freshman. By the end of my sophomore year I was in the starting line-up. I am a Varsity Team Captain my senior year.
My current GPA is a 3.2, my ACT score is a 20 and my SAT score is a 1210. I am enrolled in Sanderson High School’s Academy of Finance where I am taking Business and Marketing courses as well as Honors English, Math, Science and Social Studies. I completed a 135-hour summer internship at Crossroads Fellowship Church in 2017. I reported to the Chief Administrator, worked in the thrift store and helped with special projects for other departments. In addition to Finance I have an interest in Exercise Science. I am interested in a career in athletics (teaching, training or coaching) after college. I volunteered at the 2015 and 2016 Sanderson Spartan Basketball Summer Camps for 3rd through 8th Graders. I enjoyed helping with the set-up, running drills, refereeing games and coaching teams. I am looking for a program that will be a good fit for me both academically and athletically. I believe I have the talent, desire, work-ethic and character to make a difference in your program.
