Personal Statement
Playing college basketball is a goal I'm willing to work my hardest for. I am a good listener, very coachable and love to learn. I am always looking for ways to improve my game and become a better teammate. My basketball IQ is improving every game which just makes me love playing even more. I like to be vocal both on and off the court with my teammates, encouraging them and calming them if need be. I am an extremely hard worker. Coaches have called me a "bruiser" or use the word "tough" or "young bull" to often describe me. I am not afraid to make contact and I am very strong in the paint. I feel my physical strength often allows me to play bigger than I am so I can confidently defend against opponents 20-40 lbs heavier than myself. I've worked on adding a variety of offensive moves to my repertoire this year which allowed me to be the second leading scorer on my high school team as a junior. I am well known to coaches in this city. I earned the Coach's award my junior season. My GPA is consistently up above a 4.0, with a 4.075 currently. I am a loyal, dedicated person who wants to find a great college I can stay at for four years and earn a degree in Nursing while playing for a respected program and coach. I also played upright bass for five years at school and play electric bass for my church where my father is a pastor. Excelling in all areas, academic, musical and athletic prepares me for a successful collegiate experience in the future. Thank you for taking the time to read my profile and for your consideration.
