My name is Michael Johnson. I am currently a junior attending Douglas High School in Minden, Nevada. I have been playing basketball since I was young and it's what I love to do whether it was in my backyard with my older brothers, in an empty gym, or in front of hundreds of people in a playoff game. During the Spring and Summer I play with the Nevada Wolverines 17U team out of Reno. This year I received the recognition of first team all Sierra League and first team all region for Northern Nevada Division 1. I maintain a 3.7 GPA while driving an hour and back to Reno at least 5 days a week to attend practice and workouts as well as waking up before school everyday to make 500 shots. As a point guard I feel I have the skills not just to be a leader, but also a scorer and a distributor. It has always been a dream of mine to play basketball in college while setting myself up with the skills and discipline to excel later in life. Preferably, I would like to attend a college where I can gain a business degree and follow in the footsteps of my father. As a very competitive and coachable athlete, I hope to find a basketball program where I can excel academically and athletically. I would be a good fit to any team because statistics don't matter to me; I would rather win a state championship than an MVP award.
