Hi, my name is Caleb Krohn. I am a rising senior at Scarsdale High School in New York. I recently completed my AAU season, finishing up the year with the Nike EYBL team PSA Cardinals. At the Basketbull Hall of Fame Invitational in Springfield, I helped lead the team into the tournament quarterfinals, and I was named by Rivals.com and NYCHoops.com as a Top Performer at this live event. I then made it to the quarterfinals with my teammates at the Hardwood Classic in Kansas City. During my junior year high school varsity season, I was named First Team All-League, First Team All-Conference and First Team All-Section. My junior season was my second as a starter and my first as a captain, and I led my team in scoring, assists, steals and blocks (I was second on the team in defensive rebounds and third in overall rebounds). My team qualified for the New York State Class AA Section 1 playoffs, where we won a play-in game, and MSG Varsity network recognized me as one of the top performers in the 2015 opening round (I was noted as one of the area's top performers in MSG Varsity's "Player of the Day" segment several times this year, and was awarded the honor outright on January 29, 2015). In the first round of the Section 1 tournament last year, I scored 30 points against the #2 seed in the section and was named to the First Round All-Tournament team by MSG Varsity.
My athletic goals in high school are to continue as a varsity starter and help lead my team to a Class AA Section 1 championship. Academically, I would like to maintain my good grades and improve in all my subjects.
In regards to college, my goal is to become a college basketball player at the highest competitive level possible, at a school with a strong academic environment. I am leaning toward liberal arts as my preferred general area of study. I am aware of what my goals demand, and I have dedicated myself both on the court and in the classroom: in addition to my basketball achievements, I take advanced courses in my high school, currently have a GPA of 3.72, and I received a score of 31 on the ACT this past December.
I am lucky to be supported by my family, all of whom are willing to help me reach my aspirations.
