My dream as an amateur basketball player is to be the smartest, the most athletic and the most hard-working basketball player of all the time. Basketball is like life, if you miss one shot you will try harder to make the next one. So in this case, if I ever get denied and brought down by words like “You can’t make it”, I would use those words as motivation to prove them wrong. Also to show that I can do it which would make me and my family satisfied. So my dream is to play Division 1 basketball and master that until the next challenge comes around.
My goal in life in general first starts with my success and work ethic in my academics. I’ve always told myself, if you are doing something, mine as well do it amazingly. So my goal in my academics is to try to get at least 90 and above grade average throughout my high school career. Also, my main goal is to get better at this wonderful game of basketball that I love and I would do anything for it. So if that means doing whatever this program throws at me, I will do because I know in the future it is going to help me be a better all-around basketball player. In my whole high school career, I want to average 20 points a game, 6 rebounds a game and 10 assists again. So the broad picture of my goal is to reach a higher skill-level to play in the higher level I want to and to be not only an athlete, and scholar athlete.
My aspiration as a high-school freshman basketball player is to be a successful professional basketball player. So if that’s winning a championship, so be it, if that’s being an M.V.P so be it but as long as I’m play basketball for a living and getting better and being more than happy doing all that, then that’s fine. However, all those things require baby steps, such as dominating the game of basketball at my skill level now then after that come the skill level in the NCAA basketball nation then after that the level of play as an NBA player and don’t forget the grades to. What inspired me to play basketball was the first knick game I went to as a younger kid that just amazed me to see the game level of play and all the fans that come to see you play just makes you feel like that there are things bigger than yourself. Also what inspired me was the first time when I stepped on that court and felt that nobody else can beat me, only I can, THAT’S what inspired me to play this wonderful game of basketball. There are actually two people who inspired me. The person who inspired me to get better in basketball was Coach K and LeBron James. Coach K because the way he coaches, just makes you think that there are more things than just dribbling the ball and shooting, there’s the basics of fundamentals. However, the person who really inspired me to get better at my game is LeBron James. My reasoning is this, there is nobody else out there now who can perfect and use there smartness and physicality to play this game then LeBron James. The way he can score, play defense, help his team in many ways, and also to lead his team is just amazing. But the main thing that inspires me is his tenacity, his loving for the game, and his work ethic of trying every possible to make his team win and succeed. So in conclusion, I believe that this program will help me a lot because it would push me to work harder and to show that I’m getting a big chance here to doing something I love in college and so for.
